To prevent teen dating violence think of the risk of the person you are going to date. Around 50% of young people who got raped or sexual abuse will have long term issues and some of the kids will even commit suicide. Most teens when they get abused are scared to get help because they don't want anyone to know. Most parents don't think of teen dating violence and they don't think it is a problem. 81% of parents believe that teen dating violence is not a problem.
  • About 1 in 12 people experience physical dating violence and sexual dating violence. When these things happen to people it affects them really bad. There are long term effects when you get abused. People don't like to tell people when they have a problem. But when you have a problem like that you have to tell a trusted adult. WARNING SIGNS OF ABUSE ARE:When someone is putting you down frequently in front of people.Any form of physical harm. Extreme jealousy of insecurity.Pressuring you or forcing you to have sex.Possessiveness or controlling behavior.
  • When there is teen dating violence you can call for help by calling a hotline or 911 and they will help you with your situation. The hotline you can call or text. You can live chat right now. You can call 1.800.799safe. When you call that number it will help you with teen dating violence.
  • To have a healthy relationship you need to trust each other, be honest, be equal to each other, and compromise when there is a problem.
