  • Let's get out of here! There is not enough food for us!
  • Egypt or bust!
  • Why should I? They are my slaves!
  • Let's get out of this place! We need food!
  • EGYPT OR BUST!
  • Let them go, Pharaoh!
  • Never! They are my slaves and nothing will change my mind!
  • The CROPS!
  • The Patriarch Abraham made a covenant with God, promising that if he and his family left Ur and traveled to Canaan, that one day this would be his descendants' promised land. Years later, a famine struck in Canaan. Abraham’s grandson Jacob and his family fled to Egypt. As the Israelites grew more numerous and practiced monotheism, the Pharaoh became mistrustful and enslaved them all.
  • We did it!
  • Moses was a Hebrew who was raised in the palace of the Pharaoh in Egypt. He wanted to leave the palace because the Pharaoh was enslaving the Hebrews and would not let them go. He continued to deny Moses’ requests to let them go. But after the firstborn son of the Pharaoh was killed, Moses and his people were sent out.
  • I wonder what he's doing up there?
  • Locusts were killing the crops, disease spread to the Egyptians, and the death of every Egyptian first-born son. He told his people to spare the death of their firstborn son by smearing lamb’s blood on their doors so the Angel of Death will pass over their homes.
  • Welcome to the promised land! I will be taking over for Moses.
  • Ugh. Who's the new guy?
  • The Pharaoh demanded that Moses and the Israelites leave Egypt. Moses led the Israelites to the Sinai peninsula out of Pharaoh’s reach. The Freedom of Hebrews is called The Exodus and is remembered during the week of Passover.
  • The Israelites stopped at the bottom of Mount Sinai.Moses was given the Ten Commandments from God and they were important because the Ten Commandments are rules that this religion has been given from God himself
  • Because Moses was born in Egypt, he was not allowed into the promised land. Instead, Moses’ assistant Joshua led the Israelite armies to Canaan, and the first city they conquered was Jericho. After the defeat of Jericho, the Israelites began conquering more small kingdoms. Then the descendants of each of Jacob’s sons settled in a different part of Canaan. Some of the other Israelites settled in the south and east.
