- Themisticlies knew the waters were shallow. The persian ships were trapped and the triremes rammed into them.

- This was the final major battle of the Greco/Persian wars. The greeks won because they sent soldiers around to flank them. They waited eleven days just staring at the persians.
- The wars end when the greeks win in the battle of plataea. The greeks rebuilt athens and the persians left. There is still debate on who won the wars fully because they both completed their goals
