  • Is that what I think it is?? Its.. A ZEPPELIN!!
  • The Zeppelin was one of the most significant and intriguing air ships of the time during WWI. The Zeppelin was used in warfare, for spy ships, and was used to transport cargo. These airships would revolutionize ariel warfare and would inspire some of the most famous inventions of all time, the airplane.
  • Who Invented this Marvelous Invention and what is it?
  • Ferdinand Von Zeppelin was the inventor of this revolutionary aircraft. With its 420-foot-long hull (or balloon), The airship uses separated compartments that each carried compressed air to lift the airship. The size of this monstrosity is hard to put into perspective. However, the largest ever commercial airplane (Airbus A380) measures at a measly 238 feet long. Nearly doubling the size of a modern airplane, surely it packs a punch, right? With two 16 horsepower engines, the average speed for a zeppelin was less than 20 miles an hour. Despite its flaws, the Zeppelin saw major achievements and revolutionized ariel combat.
  • One of the major manufacturing hubs was at a location called Friedrichshafen in Germany. This is where the majority of the manufacturing and production would occur. The framework was used by a fabric material to create a streamlined shape to the airship. it was filled with a combination of girders, wood, and layered fabrics for the framework. The first batches of Zeppelins were manufactured in 1908 during WWI. In addition, the Staaken and Frankfort assembly plants were responsible for the production of these large airships.
  • Where and When was the Zeppelin produced
