- Ender grows to be a better leader throughout the book. Initially, Ender was just a kid who got bullied, but he went to battle school. By the end of the story, he became a commander who destroyed an entire species.
- The climax of Ender's game is the final battle, because it was Ender’s final examination. The enemy had outnumbered him a thousand to one. The resolution was for Ender to destroy the planet thinking it was a game. At the end, Ender decided to find the egg, and reincarnate the species.
- The battle school is the most important setting, because it taught Ender how to depend on himself. The battle room forced him to communicate, strategize, and lead people. He became an asset at the battle school.
- The theme of this story is that Innocence is something every kid should have, because society has to have a balance of good, and bad. Ender's childhood was replaced with adulthood when he was six years old and had to go to battle school. Then he had to command an army and destroy a planet at 10 years old.
- “In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him.” This quote was important throughout the story in order for Ender to defeat his enemies, but also at the end. It made him want to resurrect the whole Bugger species, because he had learned to love them.
- Valentine was too compassionate, while her brother Peter was too hateful. This contrast between brother, and sister was important, because Ender's personality was in the middle. They’re similar because they are both brilliant, and both influence Ender.
