  • Purpose/Importance? This young woman is going to work. She is a congresswoman whose job is to collect taxes from states, lay taxes down, and vote on tax laws. The importance of this job by congress is to help pay off debt for the welfare of the people and common defense, and help war efforts.
  • Support Public Schools
  • These Young Men are trained for the Navy, and maintained by Congress. The importance of the Navy is Congress has more power over territories and for war. It also helps them infiltrate ares in need of help and protection of the people.
  • Power to enlist people
  • This young woman is waiting to talk to the president to get back. Her mission is to tell the president that Congress declared war on another nation. The importance of this is that the Constitution gives the power for congress to declare war if they have a probable cause, too. And want to take action.
  • Power to change currency
  • In this picture, kids are at a public school about to walk in. Congress who supports and aids schools money for them to operate correctly is so important for kids to earn an education. On top of that, it gives schools additional benefits in the long run. Which is important for the kids career.

The importance of the picture shows that at a time the military needs people. Congress has the power to set a age range of people who they believe are qualified enough to serve in the army. The importance of this is that Congress can get aid in battle if they feel our nation is losing in war. It's called a Draft.

Congress has the power to coin money, it's implied that Congress has the power to set up mints and pay workers to run those mints. In the supreme court case, McCulloch vs Maryland, The SC confirmed that Congress can exercise these implied powers.
