- Babe, do you mind taking a look at my text before I send it to this fellow small business owner? I just want to make sure it sounds like proper English.
- Oh shit, what did I do now?
- But teachers always filled my papers with red lines and circles. They thought my English is terrible. I had to retake college writing for that. It has been 23 years since then but I still don't think I can ever get this grammar stuff right. I don't want it to affect people's impression of me and my small business.
- I feel like writing stresses you out a lot even though you are a good writer. I wish you'd feel more confident about it.

- You have been practicing and observing communication since you were a little baby. You are still doing it every single day of your life! You have been speaking English your entire life. OF course you are good at English. Dead old white men made up these rules long ago for obsolete reasons. Don't allow their ghosts to make you doubt yourself.
- Oh.. you know.. that actually kinda makes sense. I'll try to remind myself and not let that anxiety fester. Btw, you are absolutely my most favorite English teacher ever!
