- After Pontiac's war, British officials issued the Proclamation of 1763, this stated that colonists weren't allowed to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. Colonists decided to ignore the Proclamation of 1763.
- Townshend Act/Reaction
- WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE HAVE TO PAY TAXES AGAIN?!
- The Sugar Act was a tax put on sugar that anyone bringing sugar into the colonies would have to pay. The Stamp Act was a tax that colonists had to pay for certain items such as, legal documents, newspapers, playing cards, and dice.
- Boston Massacre
- *pew pew pew*
- The colonies boycotted British goods and rioted. They argued that Britain could not tax them without giving a representative from the colonies in Parliament.
- Boston Tea Party
- This will show them not to tax us.
- After they repealed the Sugar and Stamp acts they set in motion the Townshend Acts. Which put taxes on things such as glass, paper, paint, lead and tea.
- The people of Boston a harassing British soldiers, yelling and throwing things at them. One of the soldiers gets scared and fires into the crowd causing the other soldiers to fire, 5 people died.
- In order to fight back against the Tea Act a large group of colonists dressed up as Mohawk Native Americans and snuck aboard a cargo ship. They dumped 342 crates of tea into the sea.
