My Moral Development Through The Years

- Early Childhood
- My parents would tell me I was badly behaved when I was little. However, they say I was obedient. I never ask for something the others would have. I always ask permission if I will take a bath, If I will go somewhere because I was told by them to follow our parents. They would always say only them have the “K” (Karapatan) in everything. This is the reason why I do not speak bad words to others since we do not have the right to speak badly of others. I noticed that I only walk when my parents talk. My VIRTUE is aligned with my parents’ guidance. I begin to hold this VIRTUE up until now that I need their permissions if I will have my own business because I know they know what is best for me.
- In my teenage days everything started to change along with my physique and mentality. I begin to appreciate the people around me. This is the time where I started to bloom in the later stage. I came to know what are the parts of speech. I read a lot of books that really helped me academically. It started when I was treated to a swimming on my 12th birthday. My godmother was the one who said to me to pursue more since such treat can happen once in awhile. She said time will fly together with my dreams but my feet shall be on the floor. The line always reminds me to appreciate things and do well in my studies and have integrity even if the others will not. So, I never had the time to cheat since I know its very wrong in the first place and the teachers worked hard for us to learn. My DISPOSITION became distinct here that if I find the other people exerted effort to something then I would gladly appreciate and treasure it. Moreover, I get to only care when I see them working wholeheartedly.
- Early Adolescence
- Now that next year will be my entrance to getting moremature tasks as an individual. I started to think about my purpose andresponsibilities as a law-abiding citizen of our country. I tend to act anddecide on my own for everything I do but that does not mean I would neglectbecause my belief still inclined to what my parents would say. I do what would do good for me and for everyone. If no one will benefit from my actions then I wouldrefuse to do it anyhow. This is the time when I have established my own beliefand disregard some belief which I knew was wrong all along. It is likeeverything started to fall into place now that I perceive everything in themost moral and disciplined way. I never go with my friends if I still havechores and I believe that is one sign of maturity. I only buy what I want when myneeds are supplied. Now taking this ethics subject opens different principles to me in addition to what I have to fully develop my morals.
