  • Now you may ask yourself: does this happens just on space, with planets or can we actually observe it happening?
  • YES! There are lots of ways we can see how the theory works in a visual way! Let's go ahead and see an example.
  • This is a very simple experiment.Put a ball in the middle of a hanging sheet. The weight will make it curve. Now add a smaller and lighter ball far away from the first one, with a little push so that it'll move in circles. That means the smaller ball orbits around the bigger ball. That is how the planets do it.
  • The Sun would be the first, larger ball, the Earth, the second, smaller one. And the space would be the sheet, curving under the Sun, making the Earth orbit around it. That also happens with the moon and the Earth. The Earth has more mass than the moon, so it takes the place of the first ball, while the moon takes the place of the second ball, causing the same effect as the Sun and the Earth.
  • With that, Mr. Einstein proved that gravity doesn't just attract objects toward each other, but it curves the space around them! Isn't that so, very cool?
  • It's always so fun to learn something new, isn't it? Now I have to go do the rest of my science homework, thank god I already know everything about Mr. Einstein! See you guys for the next lesson! Byeee!
