- Autistic relationships are like most other but they come with social hardships due to unspoken rules and social cues.Masking and blending mixed with sterotypes makes dating hard.
- When trying to diagnosis me they look at the wrong set of symptoms. Women aren't able to be so gauche. There is a large gap in understanding my Autism compared to his. The same can be said for LGBT community.
- Women, trans-gender, and non gender conforming people are far under represented in Autism converstation and diagonis.
- African Americans are 2.6 times more likely to get a different diagnosis than Autism. But White and Black personal are 1.2 times more likley to be diagnosed than Hispanic individuals. Autism is seen as a higher class, affluent, english speaking issue. Which is why most screening is only done in English. Futhering the gap in diagnosis and suppport.
- Being white vs black/brown and Autistic can lead to very different ideas. Being White there is media representation and things actions are connected to your diagnosis. For others behaviors are overlooked and deemed dangerous.
