Texto do Storyboard

  • This is an example of repitition because the old man continues referring to the stable buck by this word. This signifies that they think of him solely as a black man and not as an equal, without directly saying it. It also gives historical context as to the fact that this term is not seen as derogatory.
  • "Sure. Ya see the stable buck's a ___"
  • "They let the ____ come in last night. Little skinner name of Smitty took after the ____...Smitty says he would killed the ____"
  • "How's the boss?"
  • "He ain't much of a talker, is he?"
  • This is an example of a simile. George is comparing Lennie to a bull which shows that he is extremely strong and able to do hard things.
  • "No, he ain't. but he's sure a hell of a good worker. Strong as a bull."
  • This is an example of foreshadowing. It gives the reader the idea that there will be trouble at the ranch in the coming chapters and George and Lennie will be in the middle of it.
  • "We'll get out jus' as soon as we can. I don't like it no better than you do."
  • "I don't like this place, George. This ain't no good place. I wanna get outa here."
