  • “A Saturday at the Swings”by Izzie Bird, Ander Buckley, Halleigh Carson, Philip DiMeglio, and Nicole Ryeom
  • Today is a nice day. Kevin is going to the park with his grandmother to swing on the swing set. He's so excited!
  • Kevin spends his time on the swing set. He swings back and forth. He's having so much fun!
  • After awhile, another boy walks over. “Hi, I’m Noah. Can I use the swing after you?” he asks.
  • “Sure! I’m Kevin. This is the best swing. You can use it now that I’m done," replies Kevin.
  • Noah began to swing. “This is so much fun! I love swinging on the swing set!" he exclaimed, swinging higher and higher.
  • Noah keeps swinging. He swings high, he swings low, He swings up, he swings down. Noah has been swinging for a long time.
  • Kevin comes back over to the swing set. “Can I have a turn now? You’ve been on the swing for awhile now,” he asks. But Noah doesn't want to get off the swing.
  • He exclaims “No! I’m having fun." As he begins to swing again, Noah proclaims "I’m staying on the swing.”
  • But suddenly Kevin grabs the swing's rope! “GET OFF! It’s my turn now!” yells Kevin.
  • Noah falls off the swing, and the two boys begin to yell at each other, it looks like they might fight!
  • From across the playground, the neighbors of the two boys see them start to hit each other.
  • Kevin and Noah's neighbors walk over, and try to calm down the situation. "Hey boys, what's going on here?" asks Noah's neighbor.
  • Kevin and Noah are way too angry! So, the neighbors decide to talk to the boys one on one.
  • Kevin's neighbor takes him to a picnic table to sit down. "Kevin, why are you so angry with Noah?" he asks.
  • Kevin sits down, huffing and puffing. "“He wouldn’t give me a turn on the swing, when it was my turn," he exclaims, upset.
  • His neighbor nods, listening to Kevin. “I can see why that would upset you. Did you try to explain that to Noah?” he asked.
