  • At a young age, it has been said that Ignatius was incredibly different to the later man that we all know him to be. Working hard to become a noble soldier, Ignatius was seen as a self-absorbed, fond man. This is quite peculiar when we compare Ignatius’ personality from when he was particularly young, to when he developed a spiritual and emotional connection with God himself. I feel that this connection that this inspirational saint developed is one of the most beautiful things that a man or person can ever do. This represents the impact that God can have on anyone as long as an individual makes an effort. Ignatius eventually become a soldier fighting for his home country of Spain.
  • Personally, I feel that this period of Ignatius’ life was the pivotal moment that many may remember him by. Through the act of reading and praying, Ignatius developed a close relationship with God himself. Ignatius dreamt not only about God himself but about saints who had followed God’s message throughout time. Many would have simply seen an injury like this as the end of their journey/life, however, Ignatius did quite the opposite, through the act of taking this chance he slowly built an everlasting spiritual connection with God.
  • The final period of Ignatius’ life ended in the founding of the society of Jesus, [ also known as the Jesuit Order ]. Our college is based upon the values of this group and personally, I strive to follow Ignatius’ message in everyday life. After studying at university, Ignatius met six other men who supported him in the creation of this particular order. These men were: Alfonso Salmeron, Diego Laynez, Nicholas Bobadilla, Simao Rodrigues, Francis Xavier and Peter Faber. This was one of the final chapters in the life of St Ignatius of Loyola. This effected Ignatius deeply tightening his bond with God, his son and the holy spirit.
