- A big scene in the book is when it first starts out and scythe Faraday goes to visit Citra and her family. Citra and her family thought the scythe was there to glean one them.
- The Entanglement
- One day at school Rowan had encountered a scythe. The scythe was there to glean his classmate Khol. Rowan tried stall as much as he could but it didn't work.
- Scythe Faraday
- Citra and Rowan both got an invitation to go to the opera by a secret admire. They later found out that the secret admire was scythe Faraday.
- Curie admits that she was madly in love with Faraday and several times, she went into his room at night, planning to get in bed with him. He thought she meant to kill him. Curie confessed her love, he let her down easy, and they ignored each other for 50 years.
- Rowan takes three blades and fights his way to the door. Citra watches him go and when he's gone, she kisses her ring to feel a bit of Rowan's blood. Rowan leaps into the passenger side of the car and is shocked to see Scythe Faraday driving.
