  • 2. I'm so happy you asked! They are parts of the 3 stages of UbD. UbD is very helpful because if a teacher starts backwards with what her kids need to know then the teacher knows what to teach. The first stage is identifying desired results or learning goals. A teacher may ask themselves, what is it that I want my students to be able to understand and know and do? Then they can create "Big Ideas" which ae basically the main idea and establishes goals, what the kids will be able to accomplish
  • 1. Well what are learning goals, evidence and lesson plans and why does that help?
  • 3. The 2nd stage is called determine acceptable evidence. This can be done by creating performance tasks such as debates or oral presentations or exit tickets. A teacher may ask themselves, 'How will i know my students learned this?'. They use feedback and assessment, information from minor quizzes or tests to make sure that you know what to plan to teach in stage 3.
  • 4. Sounds good, what is stage 3 ?
  • 5. The 3rd stage of UbD is Plan learning experiences and instruction. A teacher plans out learning experiences, which are things like gallery walks , lectures and notes to make sure they know how the students will be learning all the information. teaching and learning go hand and hand in this stage because when you plan something out good then you can teach it good, and your students learn it good.Anyways UbD is wonderful thing to utilize because it has many advantages to it for example, it deepens the students understanding by using relevant things. Also it can make sure that you know exactly what to teach so your students will be able to do good on class.
  • 6. That's so cool! Maybe I can tell my teacher about this because then our class might do better. I feel like with big ideas would help us to reach our goal and with tests being designed before had my teacher can make sure that when they plan the lessons it includes everything! This is perfect, I've got to go tell my teacher to try this out
