- Determined to make a lasting impression at the ball, Madame Loisel borrows a dazzling diamond necklace from her friend, Madame Forestier. With a heavy heart, Madame Loisel confesses the truth about the lost necklace, only to learn that it was a mere imitation, worth a fraction of the debt they incurred.
