- The weather is getting worse. Keep me posted about it. I am going to try learning the ocean current speed.
- Yes captain, I shall do my best!
- In July 1976, the narrator Gordon cook along with his wife Mary, son Jonathan, and daughter Suzanne set sail from Plymouth, England, to voyage around the globe as done by another sailor, James Cook, about 200 years ago.
- The 1st Hit
- The first half of the voyage went smoothly, and they sailed down to the west coast of Africa to Cape Town.And, before heading to the southern Indian Ocean, one of the world's roughest seas, they hired two crewmen. One was an American sailor named Larry Virgil and the other was a Swiss sailor named Herb Seigler.
- January 4th
- What are we going to do?!?!.
- We need to make through this.
- Even with the toughest of weathers, the family and the crew celebrated Christmas with joy and pomp. However, the storm continued till the new year.
- A Sense Of Relief
- The storm has finally passed
- On January 2, the storm became powerful and the waves became enormous.The screaming of the wind and spray was painful to the ears.
- The nightmare had begun and a tremendous explosion had shook the ship from different parts. Gordon and Suzanne were heavily injured. Everybody's hopes began to demolish until Jonathan, the narrators 6 year old son, came up to him and said, ''We are no afraid to die, if can all be together...''With this, the narrator was determined to survive the storm.
- We are not afraid to die... if we can all be together....
- On 6th January, the storm receded, and the wind was at ease. Suzanne informed her dad that he had found the island he was talking about earlier and was the world’s best daddy and captain. They anchored offshore for the night and were welcomed by the island’s inhabitants in the morning. ---- THE END
