Aponi-tolau, live at the highest peak of the mountain since he was a little boy, for he was lord of the mountain. His mother was Langaan, goddess of the wind and rain.One day, he was bored with the view from the peak, as the view never changed

Aponi-tolau lashed with the hook and hit the youngest and most beautiful among them. Heer name was Humitau, the favorite of Tau-mariu
At the base of the tower the nine beautiful maiden damce on the shallow. Aponi-tolau did not know that the nine lovely maidens were the daughters of the seaweed
The cries of the seaweed maidens brought by Tau-mariu from his abode. In his anger, he called th waves and the armies of tuna fish. He ordered the waves to lash the raft and throw Aponi-tolau
Aponi-tolau called to his mother for help. Langaan sent down the strongest wind in her domain to sail Aponi-tolau's raft safety as shore
Aponi-tolau carried Humitau home with him, he fed her with a mountain herbs. He asked her to be his wife. Young and full of light, she soon learned to love Aponi-tolau
At the tower rock Tau-mariu grew even more furious, he called the god of seas and ocean to punish the land dwellers. From the sky, Langaan learned the plan and instructed her so to go up the highest mountain with his household.
The flood filled up the valley and plains, destroying everything. Tau-mariu did all for Humitau but never forgive Aponi-tolau.
Aponi-tolau and Humitau descended from the Cordillera. They planted trees, flower and grain to heal the earth. They raised animals and they begot children to people the earth.-END-
