Texto do Storyboard

  • Billions of years ago...
  • In time... There was the Earth.
  • And the Earth was formed, being constructed of multiple layers.
  • Today, kids are wanting to know more about what's beneath the surface of the Earth...
  • I wish I knew more about what was beneath the surface...
  • Timmy, here is what you need to know!
  • Just another quick fact, a little more than 47% of the crust consists of Oxygen.
  • The crust occupies less than 1% of the Earth's volume.
  • First of all, there are multiple layers that basically compose of the Earth. The crust is the first layer, composed of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks.
  • Next, is the Mantle. It is the thickest layer of the Earth extending down 2,890 km. It makes up about 84% of the Earth's volume and are mostly studied when it comes to seismology.
  • What's the next layer sir?
  • The final layer is the core, but there are two layers within the core itself: The inner core and the outer core. The inner core is EXTREMELY hot calculating at 9800 degrees fahrenheit with guesses that the inner core is growing at a slow steady pace.
  • The outer core on the other hand, is actually more hot than the inner core, calculating at possible temperatures of 10,800 degrees fahrenheit. It is the site for vicious convection currents also.
  • Thank you for explaining, let me walk you out.
  • The End.
  • Thanks to that man, I now know the basics of the layers that make up the Earth. Thank you sir!
  • I love science. And kids.
