  • Sita! My love! I knew you were telling the truth the whole time! I am so glad to call you my wife.
  • What do you mean Rama? You were convinced I betrayed you with Ravana.
  • I must forgive Rama because he was doing what he thought was morally right. He was preserving the Dharma, which are duties for each individual to follow in a cosmic pattern.
  • Shouted down from the heavens, "Sita! Forgive Rama. He only questioned you to protect Dharma."
  • Sita, please forgive me. I am so sorry for believing you betrayed me. I understand now that you never would. Please forgive me Sita.
  • Rama, I respect you for doing what was morally right to preserve the Dharma.
  • This story is told to highlight in Hinduism and Buddhism the heroic qualities in both Rama and Sita. They both endured troubles throughout the story, but remained faithful in their religion.
  • Furthermore, some women today dislike the character of Rama, for they believe he is not a hero since he did not treat his wife properly after being captured for several years.
