Texto do Storyboard

  • At about 400 B.C. Democritus proposed that matter is composed of tiny and uncuttable/hard particles called atomos which are now called atoms.
  • Greetings, my name is Democritus, and I believe that all matter is made up of little, uncuttable/hard particles known as "atomos."
  • With the help of several chemists and biochemists, John Dalton discovered the Atomic Mass.
  • John Dalton developed the first atomic hypothesis in 1808. His hypothesis said that matter is made up of indivisible and indestructible atoms.
  • Atoms are indivisible solid spheres that are as little as a grain of sand.
  • Dmitri Mendeleev invented the periodic table in 1869. With the Mendeleev Theory, he invented it. Dmitri Mendeleev's Theory consisted of grouping the 63 elements into a periodic table based on atomic mass.
  • I originally created the periodic table and the 60 elements that go along with it.
  • JJ Thomson discovered that there are negatively charged particles inside the atom in 1897. These negatively charged particles were first called corpuscles by Thomson, but scientists eventually renamed them electrons.
  • I built an atom model that I call the "Plum Pudding" model. The negative electrons represent the raisins in the pudding, whereas the positive charge is in the dough.
  • Through the gold foil experiment, Ernest Rutherford discovered the nucleus and the protons within it in the year 1910. He also disproved Thomson's Plum Pudding in 1911. Rutherford came to the conclusion that the atom consists of a tiny, compact, positively charged nucleus at the core of the atom, surrounded by negatively charged electrons.
  • In the experiment, I noticed that the majority of the particles passed through the gold. The nucleus of an atom is the dense core of the atom
  • James Chadwick discovered the Neutrons inside the Nucleus in 1932.
  • The Neutrons are uncharged particles located inside the nucleus, thus their name.
