  • Gatsby's New Servants
  • "I hadn't seen him around, and I was rather worried. Tell him Mr. Carraway came over"
  • Going to Town
  • "Well, you take my coupé and let me drive your car to town"
  • Gas Station
  • Nick became curious as to why Gatsby wasn't throwing a party, and goes over to see why. When he goes over, he is accosted by Gatsby's new servants, who turn him away rudely.
  • Plaza Hotel
  • "Your wife doesn't love you, she's never loved you. She loves me"
  • You must be crazy!
  • Gatsby and Nick arrive at Tom's house where they meet Tom, Daisy, and Jordan for lunch. Daisy suggests that they go to town, and the group agrees. Tom insists he takes Gatsby's car, and Gatsby takes Tom's. Daisy decides to accompany Gatsby, and Jordan and Nick go with Tom.
  • Car Crash
  • Tom, Nick, and Jordan go to the gas station to get gas, where they come across George Wilson. Wilson expresses that he wants to get away with Myrtle and move to the west, because he had discovered that Myrtle is having an affair. They leave, and as they drive off, Nick notices Myrtle looking at Tom and Jordan, assuming Jordan was Tom's wife.
  • Gatsby Takes the Blame
  • The group ends up at the Plaza Hotel, where Tom and Gatsby begin to get into a heated discussion. After Tom accuses Gatsby of not being an Oxford man, Gatsby tells Tom that Daisy never loved Tom. Daisy then confesses that she loves both Gatsby and Tom. Tom also accuses Gatsby of bootlegging, and this shocks Daisy.
  • The group heads home, and Tom, Nick and Jordan take Tom's car, while Gatsby and Daisy take Gatsby's car. As Tom, Nick, and Jordan are driving back, they encounter the site of an accident, where they find Myrtle dead. Michaelis is telling the police the details about the accident, and Tom tells Wilson that the yellow car that hit Myrtle wasn't his.
  • "It was a yellow car"

  • "That yellow car I was driving this afternoon wasn't mine"
  • Back at Tom's house, Tom, Daisy, and Jordan all go inside, but Nick stays outside. Nick then find Gatsby in the bushes, and starts to talk to him. Gatsby admits that it was Daisy who hit Myrtle, but that he is going to take the blame for it. Gatsby expresses that he is worried that Tom might do something to Daisy. Nick goes inside to investigate and finds Tom and Daisy sharing a moment together. Nick then leaves Gatsby, who is planning to stay until Daisy goes to bed.
