- This is my storyboard for the Speciation case study of Abert's and Kaibab squirrels, who reside on separate rims of the Grand Canyon, AZ
- I'll start with the Abert's squirrel population. All members of this population are relatively the same color, with tasseled ears and forelimbs. Some of the squirrels come in different shades of brown and black, with grey-white tails. Due to the abundance of trees, Abert's squirrels make nests and feed on the seeds and fungus in the Ponderosa pines.

- The two groups of squirrels live on separate rims the North and South of what is to be called the Grand Canyon. The North Rim resides at a higher elevation, whereas the South Rim sits lower.

- There are predators that eat these squirrels that live up in the Grand Canyon. For evidence on the north rim of the Grand Canyon, the kind of predators that eat the Kaibab Squirrels are Goshawks, and coyotes also catch a few of these squirrels each winter. Humans also hunt them. On the south rim of the Grand Canyon, the kind of predators that eat Abert's squirrels are The northern goshawk, bobcats, cougars, and coyotes. Humans are also allowed to hunt the Abert squirrels.
- Finally, the two populations of squirrels meet. However, the two populations are unable to interbreed and produce healthy, fertile offspring. Due to the reproductive mechanism barriers that cause this, we now have two new species that exhibit their own unique traits and stem from one common ancestor. The Kaibab navigates their dry, sandy biome on foot, whereas the Abert's squirrel leaps from pine to pine.
