  • Guildenstern and Rosencrantz enter the castle and talking to Hamlet
  • A goodly one, in which there are many confines, wards, dungeons, Denmark being one o' th' worst." (Act 2, lines 245-50)

  • Hamlet and his buddies are leaving to see a play
  • "O, there has been many throwing about of brains"

  • Hamlet is talking about how Denmark feels like a prison to him and that he's feeling depressed about his situation. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are trying to reassure Hamlet about Denmark
  • Entering into the Elsinore
  • Hamlet basically figured out why they decided to come over and see him. Thinking that they came for him, but to find out that Guildenstern and Rosencrantz were sent by his mother and uncle. 
  • Hamlet confronts Polonius
  • After their depressing talk, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were figuring out of what activity they can do with each. Hamlet suggested to go to the Elsinore, where the play is being played at.
  • Hamlet talks to First Player
  • They have arrived at the Elsinore, where the play is playing at. Hamlet introducing what the Elsinore is and what's it like inside. They both saw a player walking into the building.
  • "Gentlemen, you are welcome to Elsinore.Your hands, come then. Th’ appurtenance of welcome is fashion and ceremony. Let me comply with you in this garb, lest my extent to the players,which, I tell you, must show fairly outwards,should more appear like entertainment than yours.You are welcome. "
  • "There are the players"
  • Going into the Elsinore, Hamlet encounters Polonius to be there also. He's there to also watch the play. When talking to each other, Hamlet is being super disrespectful towards Polonius, by calling him names and having an tone towards him.
  • "O, Jephthah, judge of Israel, what a treasure hadst thou!" (Act 2, Lines 410,12)
  • "What a treasure had he, my lord?"
  • "What speech, my good lord?"
  • Before the play starts, Hamlet wanted to talk to the First Player about the speech. He wanted to tell him that he wants to put passion behind his words, when performing. But the speech is about the slaughter of character's father, which is fitting in the same situation as Hamlet. Going to setup a plan that exposes Claudius of killing his father.
  • "I heard thee speak to me a speech once, but it was never acted....especially when he speaks of Priam's slaughter."
