- Introduction
- We were around 5,000 years ago.
- The river by our civilization is the Indus river.
- The Indus river valley is located in modern Pakistan and Northern india.
- Homes
- Another important fact is that we had a sturdy and flat roofs so we could sleep up there if it was hot that night.
- Homes were important because we slept, ate, and often had a workshop inside!
- Toilet/Sewer system
- We also had drains that ran along the edge of the road to carry away trash and sewage.
- Now for sewage systems! We built our towns wide because there were sewage systems under the roads.
- Seals
- We believed our mother goddess gave us life, health, and fertility to both humans and animals.
- On seals we often had figures of gods. On one of them we had our mother goddess.
- The great bath and rituals
- Our beliefs were closely related to Hindu beliefs.
- The great bath was a ritual that we held. We believe that we have to be always pure.
- Trading
- Traders carried goods on their backs and traveled by boat or ship to other nations land.
- Trading was very important to us because we got pots and other useful items from trading.
