- Very interesting! But first off, what is inside a volcano?
- There is a chamber inside an active volcano where molten rock, known as magma, gathers. Inside the magma chamber, pressure builds up, causing the lava to flow through channels in the rock and out onto the planet's surface. Lava is the result of magma flowing to the surface.
- Let's talk about the classifications of volcanoes.

- There are three types of volcanoes. Cinder cones, stratovolcanoes, and shield volcanoes.

- Active, dormant, and extinct are the three types. Active volcanoes have erupted in the recent past, and they are likely to do so again. Volcanoes that have been dormant for a long time may erupt at some point in the future. Extinct volcanoes are unlikely to erupt again in the near future.
