- At this event gathered the three estates, clergy, nobility, and the rest, or the commoners. Due to the financial crisis, they were arguing about the new taxes towards the third estate,They voted by order and passed the taxes, two against one.

- The third estate pledged against the vote and to come together to form their own National Assembly where they will protest until the constitution of their rights is established. This then became the constitution of 1791.
- Reign Of Terror
- On July 14th, 1789 an angry mob of people attacked a prison called the Bastille, demanding gunpowder. This event marked the beginning of the revolution.
- Rise of Napoleon
- I shall be emperor!
- In early October of 1789, Women all across Paris were furious over the rising price of bread. Their hard work paid off when the king then promised to give them bread to feed their families as well as come to Paris to better understand their circumstances.
- Much like the first Republic, the reign of terror was an age of violence. The leader of a Committee of Public Safety, Robespierre encouraged violence using an executer called the guillotine. Thousands of people were executed using this new device and this chaos resulted in Robespierre trying it out himself followed by a crowd cheering for his death.
- In 1804 Napoleon rose to power after the military success. When this success got to him, he crowned himself emporer. Napoleon then created new reforms regarding government, schooling and laws.
