Motivation means "The reason a character acts, feels and thinks a certain way."

This is an example of motivation, her mom is conniving her into cleaning her room in order to have her friends over, making the daughter clean her room so she can have guests, the mom used motivation to motivate her.

the term idiom are phrases people use in everyday language that don't make sense but we know what they mean.

this is an example of idiom because its not actually raining cats and dogs its just raining hard, the cats and dogs represents hard rain.

irony is the contrast between the things seem and the way they really are.

this is an example of verbal irony, she is being sarcastic saying "whoa its really empty here" when in reality its super busy, basically saying the opposite of what she means.
