- ugh i hate school. life for women would've been so much better in medieval times. no school, no worries.
- really??
- you may not believe me, but life was terrible for us back then
- unfortunately, yes
- let me tell you a story about the truth of a medieval woman's life
- once upon a time...
- women didn't go to school. they didn't get an education. however that didn't make their life an easier or better. poorer medieval women used to live in cruck-houses made out of wood. the women would also have to clean these cruck houses regularly. cleaning the houses wasn't easy as part of the unstable roof was open for the inside fire place which caused dust and other elements to enter the house. in addition to that, their husbands would come home in dirty clothes after working in the field all day. women would also have to cook inside the houses for their husbands and children. they had to take care of lots of people.
- tired and wants to sleep but still has to finish up housework by herself because her husbands asleep.
- even richer, noble women didn't have it that much better. they had to take care of children, the cleaning, the washing, the cooking and the work that the king orders them to do. women had to choose between two options to pursue in life. they could either marry a man and dedicate their life to them and their future children, or they could take part in a nunnery and dedicate their whole life to being a nun in that group.
- no matter how high or low ranked women were in the social hierarchy in medieval times, women were always inferior to men. they had to abide by the rules that were made by kings and lords. all girls had to follow strict hygiene rules. higher ranking women had fewer responsibilities than lower class women, but they still had to work in households, in the fields and for their children and husbands. lower class women had to do everything, so that they could make a living for their family and themselves too. women always had many responsibilities and had a tough life to live.

- no!! never! i love my life in this era!
- so you see, life wasn't better. life has improved massively for women and going back to those times would not be a wise move. still think medieval women had it better?
