  • Now that I think about it, polymers are actually everywhere in my life, like this bottle.
  • Ma'am gave us a ten minute break, so I should probably grab a snack and wash my face.
  • I should also bring down this bottle so that it doesn't spill everywhere.
  • If I recall correctly, the polymer used in bottles is PET, because they're lightweight and safe for packaging food.
  • I should probably go to the kitchen and grab some snacks now.
  • And since it's lightweight, and have very good chemical resistance, I could just reuse them again and again, rather than throwing it away, and contributing to pollution.

  • Huh, mom left me snacks and put it in a tupperware. This will be delicious THANK YOU MOM!
  • I'm pretty sure tupperwares also made from a polymer. I think it's PP, actually since it has good, chemical, fatigue, and heat resistance.
  • I think that the only way most PPs are decomposed is with using landfills, which can take up to 400 to 600 plus years.

  • Wow, that was great, but it's a bit too much, so I'm going to wrap my leftovers with cling wrap.
  • I think that the only way most LDPEs are decomposed is with recycling programs by community recyclers.
  • Ma'am told us earlier that cling wrap is made out of LDPE, and with it being soft, flexible, lightweight, tough and resistant to corrosion, LDPE is the best plastic to use for cling wraps.
  • It won't have to be disposed of for a long time because it takes years before it degrades, but if you have to dispose it, calling your community's recycler is the best option.
  • Washing my face sure does feel great. Dad told me once that PVC , a polymer, is used in plumbing pipes, to bring the water to the sink.
  • It's been actually used in plumbing for ages because PVC is strong, lightweight, durable, and versatile.
  • After placing the bottle back to it's proper place,

  • How to dispose is also put here in the labels. It says that it can be recycled, reused, and be put in a landfill.
  • Someone left their shampoo bottle out here in the sink, I should put it back in it's place, just in case.
  • According to the bottle, it's made out of HDPE, a flexible, translucent, easy to process, low cost, and chemically resistant.
