- He was my best friend. He was always there to comfort me, especially when the pandemic made me feel hopeless. That there's nothing I could do to help. He constantly reminded me to keep on going, that this will soon be over, and everything that I'm doing does help.
- You should go home. Your shift ended hours ago. Let us take care of everything here.
- He takes care of me, even when he's tired from long hours of shift.
- Then one day, as I was about to go to the hospital after my day off, I got a call from him.
- I tested positive, and I got admitted yesterday.
- Remember to eat your meals during breaks, wash your hands, and always wear a mask.
- You don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine.
- Whenever I check on him, he shifts the worry over to me, and hides his pain.
- Then one day, he could no longer fight the virus. In a flash, my best friend is gone.
- Lord, thank you for the blessings you have given us during this pandemic, for keeping us safe and fed. Please help those who are struggling, our leaders, and our frontliners. Give them the hope, wisdom, strength, and protection they need to get through the days.
