- Mr. Jones, who is the owner of a farm, is a bad owner and neglects his animals as he is always drunk; however, that day, nobody cares because Old Major, one of the oldest animals on the farm, had a dream. Everybody gathers in the barn, and Old Major makes a speech about how miserable their lives are under Mr. Jones. So old major proposes that they have a rebellion before telling them an old song his ancestors sang called the Beasts of England, which all the animals pick up and sing before they scatter as their singing woke up Mr. Jones.
- Let us face it: our lives are miserable, laborious and short
- Three days after Old Major's speech, he died, and so the planning of the rebellion fell on the three other pigs. Mr. Jones had lost a lawsuit and drank much more, and neglected the animals, not feeding them and their shelters, his men also did the same things, and the pigs were fed up. The three pigs had to try and convince everybody else to rebel, which was hard as some people wanted to follow Jones till they died and others didn't see a point, and Jones' pet was spreading false rumors. Eventually, they managed to convince everybody and began the rebellion; they chased Jones and his men out of the farm, and when it was all done, they celebrated. Later on, they created the 7 commandments, which would be the laws of the farm.
