- After Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, seeking the newborn King of the Jews. Herod, the reigning king, learned of their search and called for the chief priests and teachers of the law to find out where the Messiah was prophesied to be born.
- BRING ME THE CHILD
- The Magi followed a star that led them to Jesus in Bethlehem, where they worshipped him and presented him with gifts. However, they were warned in a dream not to return to Herod, so they departed for their own country by a different route.
- After the Magi departed, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, instructing him to take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt to escape Herod's plan to kill Jesus. Joseph obeyed, taking them to Egypt and staying there until Herod's death.

- When Herod realized he had been deceived by the Magi, he became furious and ordered the massacre of all male children under the age of two in Bethlehem

- After Herod's death, an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, telling him to take the child and his mother back to Israel because those seeking to harm the child were no longer a threat.

- Joseph, fearing Archelaus who was ruling in Judea, settled in Nazareth instead, fulfilling the prophecy that Jesus would be called a Nazarene.
