Texto do Storyboard

  • Narrator: Around 563 B.C a prince named Siddartha Guatma was born.
  • Narrator: When he grew up he felt like he had an insatiable life so he left the palace and all of his riches to find the answers to the questions he had been asking himself over and over again. They were questions like why do people suffer? Why is there pain?
  • I'm leaving my riches behind so I can find the right path to life.
  • Narator: During his journey he asked many priests and scholars but he got no answer.
  • Do you know anything about pain and suffarage?
  • I'm sorry but I believe there is no such thing as an answer there is only the divine life.
  • Narrator: Siddartha believed that in order to find answers he needed to free his mind and body from everyday concerns so he started to meditate. He meditated under a tree for 7 weeks near the Ganges river.
  • Pain? Suffering? Grief?
  • After meditating he found that there are three things that caused human suffering. The three poisons were: Wanting what we do not have (ignorance and desire), wanting to keep what we already have (attachment), and wanting to get rid of what we have but dislike (aversion).
  • I finally have my answers
  • Siddartha kept meditating under the soon-to-be-called tree of wisdom and he shared his ideas and beliefs with his followers who started to call him Buddha (Enlightened One). Little did they know these beliefs would soon become a religion.
  • There are three poisons that prevent you from achieving peace and a good life.
