- The settlers finally made it to the new world, in 1587.
- 2 years earlier there was an attempt to settle in roanoke but it was unsuccessful. When John Whites people arrived they found the island deserted, forts demolished, and the remains of only one man.
- A month later Elenor Dare (John White's daughter) had a child with Ananias Dare (her husband), They named her Virginia Dare. John White decided to return to England for supplies, the trip lasted 2 and a half years longer than expected. When White returned roanoke was vacant with only the word "Croatoan" carved into a tree.
- I think the roanoke settlers made it to Croatoan in peace and got along with the natives there just fine...at first.
- The Natives liked to sit around fires often and knew how to grow crop and make it last, they taught the settlers their ways and everything went well.
- After some time I believe the settlers and the Croatoan Natives came to a disagreement at one point or came across a bad tribe of Natives that demolished the settlers or the "Lost colony" and that is why their bodies (alive or not) were never found. I do believe the colonists ended up going to Croatoan otherwise there wouldn't be European artifacts left behind as well as a few recovered European skeletons.
