- CORINTH
- Right after a baby named Oedipus was born to the rulers of Thebes, a prophecy was told by the oracle that Oedipus would kill his father and marry his mother. Hearing such news, Oedipus' father ordered him to be killed.
- After being in the forest for hours-days, a shepherd came across the baby Oedipus and took him in for a time. Eventually due to the poverty of the shepherd, he gave Oedipus to the royal family of Corinth. Years later, Oedipus finds out that the king of Corinth is not his real father, and sets out to find his real family.
- Thebes
- While on his long journey from Corinth to Thebes, Oedipus comes across a group of men walking the same road as him. Suddenly, the guards then pushed him off the road. Out of retaliation, Oedipus was able to kill all of the guards and even unknowingly, his father.
- Upon reaching Thebes, Oedipus heard of a monster with the head of a woman and the body of a lion, had been terrorizing the city of Thebes. While on his rush, Oedipus left to kill the beast.
- After solving the Sphinx's riddle, and it killing itself, Oedipus returned to Thebes to retrieve his reward. As a reward, Oedipus was able to take the recently widowed queen of Thebes and take control of the throne.
- Years later, and having 4 kids (Eteocles, Polyneices, Antigone, and Ismene.), Oedipus finally figured out what had happened to his father Laius; that he killed him years prior, and had married his mother. Out of guilt, shame, and disgust, Oedipus gouged out his eyes. While his wife hung herself.
