- I woke up one morning alone in my room, which is odd, because my fat, orange cat is normally with me. I asked my mom the last time she saw him, but she hadn’t seen him either.
- Rising Action
- For a long time, I walked around the house and outside shaking a bag of Chunk’s favorite treats. He was nowhere to be found. I was afraid he had crossed the highway I lived next to, thinking Cat, you better come back!
- Climax
- Now super worried, I go back inside and look for my mom's help. “I can’t find him anywhere! Can we go look? We could invite people over to help.” She looks at me like I’m insane, but agrees to help me look for my lost cat as long as we don’t have to invite anyone over.
- Falling Action Resolution
- After a while of walking further away from the house with Chunk’s favorite snack, we still couldn’t find him anywhere. We had asked our neighbor and he hadn’t seen him either. Suddenly, I think of the basement “We forgot about the basement! He could;have easily gotten stuck down there!” Then, we rushed back toward our house.
- I practically tumble down the basement stairs and I open the door. It’s an outdoor basement, so it smells of mold and mildew inside. I turn on my phone’s flashlight and shine it right on Chunk. Before noticing how dirty he looks and bad he smells, I grab him and give him the biggest hug. He let me carry him back inside.
- After making sure he wasn’t hurt, I started running a bath for him, making sure the water wasn’t too hot. He didn’t mind the bath much. After his bath and lots of treats, he fell asleep on my bed, and I didn’t leave his side.
