The town gathered around the town square for the annual lottery. Tessie Hutchinson was late to the lottery, as she forgot what day it was.

Everyone drew their slip of paper, and they all noticed who had gotten it. Bill Hutchinson had drawn the paper, and Tessie Hutchinson wasdevastated.

The family walked up to draw again, and Tessie got the paper with the dreaded black dot. Tessie was outraged, and afraid of what was going to happen to her.

Come on, everyone. It's time.
FALLING ACTION
Rocks flew at Tessie as everyone moved closer. She was pelted by the speeding rocks that felt like knives across her body.
Continuing to be broken apart by the stones, everyone moved closer and closer to Tessie. Her protests would not be noticed while she was being brutalized.
