  • Your punishment depends on the crime that you commit. If you steal something, you could go up to 50 years of prison, for vandalism, you could be fined over 5000 dollars. If you go past curfew, you could be sentenced to community service. Alcohol offenses could lead to 180 days in prison, and tobacco offenses could lead to a 1000 dollar fine.
  • Laws in Indiana start as bills, that go to General Assembly. if it is allowed there, it will go to the governor of the state. The governor of the state will then sign the paper and it will become a state law.
  • The oldest law was focused on prisoners and how they would be investigated and then sterilized if needed to be.
  • The newest law was created in 2020 was a marriage law that said a person between 16 and 17 can only marry a person who is 4 years older with the approval of a judge to prevent assaults.
  • Indiana has laws that are crazy and gross. Here a a few of them. You're not allowed to take a bath from October to March. You will be charged money if you are caught playing cards. It is illegal to have a moustache if you intend to kiss others people.
  • So I can't kiss anybody?
  • There are some problems that need to be fixed, whether it be the crime or what happened to the person who committed the crime.
  • The person who committed the crime could undergo alternative reform such as a mental reform or get a counselor.
  • Solutions for the crime could be further law enforcement of or longer/more severe consequences.
  • I learned a lot about laws during my research. I found out the procedures and made sure that the facts were correct. I had a lot of trouble finding the oldest law and had to double-check that the newest law was the newest law. Laws aren't really my thing, but the research was fun and it was fun making the storyboard.
