- It was the spring of 8th grade.
- I was very happy. I had a lot of friends, a lot of great things going on, I had so much fun in my classes and my grades were popping.
- However, the saying goes that all good things must come to an end eventually. The said ending was chasing me, and I was avoiding it as much as I can.
- DING DING
- I shouldn't.
- All students attending TAE High School next year, please report to the cafeteria
- You could skip it!
- High school starts in a few months, so 8th graders are invited to a welcoming tour. The thing is though, my middle school feeds into 2 different high schools. Only 20% of the 8th grade body feeds into TAE. I was a part of that 20%.
- Most of my friends would be going to the other high school. I would be losing something that made me very happy, something that I've been building on for years, and I didn't like the thought of that.
- Hey, I'm glad you came!
- The only thing that stopped me from skipping the trip were some close friends of mine since elementary school. They were also going to the same high school as me.
