- Desiree is found by Monsieur and Madame Valmonde. They adopted Desiree and raised her as their own child.
- That child is not white; it means your not white
- Armand met Desiree as a child and he instantly fell in love with her he knew she was the love of his life . Amrand didn't care that she was adopted and they got married.
- Desiree and Armand have a son and they are both very happy about the baby.
- From Mom...
- Three months later Desiree looks at her son and went to Armand to see what it meant he told her that her that the child nor her were white.
- Desiree wrote to her mother telling her to help convince Armand that she's white. Desiree's mother told her to come back home with her childDesiree then asked Armand if he wanted her to leave and he said yes. She left with her child and disappeared in the bayou
- Armand is going through old stuff and comes across old letters that Desiree had sent and he finds a letter from his mom to his dad. He read the letter and finds out that his mother was black. Theme- Don't base someones worth because of their race.
