- On the left is the shepherd tree, with a whopping 75 meter root length. This allowed it to survive well in its environment, unlike the other tree that may seem small, but is actually 3 miles away and still is visible due to its immense size, it, of course, is a redwood tree. Due to our low budget, it renders as some other tree, and we are unable to show the shepherd trees long roots (75 meters) that allow it to get water from deep down.
- The other tree may be able to survive well in a rain forest packed with trees due to its height, but here it cannot get enough water to sustain itself, thus natural selection occurs and the shepherd tree ends up being the fittest, while in a rain forest it could easily die out.
- Good luck with that. While you wait for that, I'll just take some water from the ground.

- Here, The shepherd tree takes over the savanna due to how fit it is for the enviornment. Survival of the fittest isn't how strong an organism is, but how fit it is for the environment.
