  • How are you, my dear? Do you still restrict yourself on food and exercise? You appear to be so fatigued and dull!
  • Hi Mom! I'm not doing very well. I lose weight, become dehydrated, have irregular periods, and frequently get migraines. Yes, my worry that I'm going to gain weight is the root of all of this. I recently visited the doctor, and he diagnosed me with an eating disorder, called as Anorexia Nervosa.
  • Dear God! Please follow the doctor's instructions, and never forget that despite any physical changes, you are still beautiful. Your mental health is more crucial than your physical health, regardless of size.
  • Don't worry Mom. I'll do my best not to think about my physical appearance and try to be mindful of my health. I now have alternate treatments thanks to the doctor.
  • What are some essential therapy options for you?
  • The expert claims that cognitive behavioural therapy has been demonstrated to be the most effective treatment for Anorexia Nervosa. The treatment's main goal is to normalise eating habits and other behaviours that promote weight gain. The second aim is to alter the incorrect attitudes and beliefs that lead to restrictive eating.
  • Oh, that sounds wonderful! Do you have any additional recovery alternatives, or are those the only ones?
  • There are, of course, further possibilities. For instance, dialectic behavioural therapy, a subtype of cognitive behavioural therapy, tries to change harmful thought and behaviour patterns while also encouraging acceptance of the patient receiving treatment. Interpersonal psychotherapy, a brief kind of attachment-focused psychotherapy with a symptomatic recovery focus, is the second strategy. Finally, self-help books may be beneficial.
  • These could be helpful. Additionally, I suggest you check into numerous support programmes in case your health gets worse and you need fresh medical attention.
  • I've previously done some research on support services. The Butterfly National Helpline offers free and private support, and was one of the two services that I found to be helpful. The Health at Every Size Australia directory is a collection of medical experts in Australia who provide care in accordance with the HES tenets and is intended to assist those who are concerned about eating disorders or difficulties with body image.
  • Oh, that's great! You exhibit a strong desire to get better. I hope you heal quickly! The most important thing to remember is that changing the way you think about yourself is the key to living a happy and healthy life.
  • I appreciate you saying that Mom, and I promise to try to see myself differently and improve as soon as I can. I'll do my best, but it might take a while!
