- Why are you late again?!?
- What is Mollie doing?!?!
- I have something serious to say.I saw you looking over the hedge, and-am almost certain I saw one of Mr Pilkington's men talking and stroking your nose.What does this mean?
- Mollie became more troublesome every day. She was late for work every morning and always made up excuses.
- He didn't! I wasn't! It isn't true!
- She would always run away from work and foolishly gaze at her reflection in the drinking pool.
- One day Clover saw Mollie talking to one of Mr Pilkington's men, and stroking her nose.
- We saw her on the other side of Willingdon. She was standing outside a public-house. A man was stroking her nose and feeding her sugar.
- She appeared to be enjoying herself.
- Clover confronts Mollie and she denies.
- Clover does not believe her and goes to check Mollie's stall in secret.She finds a pile of lump sugar and several bunches of ribbon.
- Mollie disappears and no one knows where she is for weeks, until the pigeons found her in another farm, Willingdon. After that, no one mentions her again.
