- Nadiya, Grandma Betty died Friday while you were in school. The cancer traveled to her brain, which made it hard to wake her after she had fallen asleep.
- Yes, baby, she remembered to pray!
- Did she remember to pray?
- God, she always prayed to you! She said that whenever she prayed to you that you would hear her. She said You'd never leave her side. But, you did! She's dead. Now I'm alone. How are you a good God when you took away my best friend?
- Nadiya! I'm sorry about your Grandmother. I want to know that you are welcome to sit with my family and join us for lunch. Let me know if you need anything at all. We love you and are here for you! Is it okay if I pray for you?
- Lord, I'm sorry for yelling at you! When Grandma Betty died, I was fearful I'd forever be alone. She always told me to apologize when I did something wrong, so, I'm sorry. She also told me to always give thanks to the Lord. Thank you for loving me enough for not leaving me alone. I miss my best friend, but I now trust that You are faithful. I trust that it is true that You will never leave me.
- I realize now that if my grandmother had never died, I would never felt a need for Jesus.
