- the Happy Prince
- one day, a swallow that was flying on it's way to Rome had took shelter for the night between the legs of the prince,
- when he prepared to go to sleep he felt a raindrop, when he looked up he saw the tears from the statue
- the bird asked the statue why he was crying and the prince told him the reason, and then the prince explained to the swallow about a aspiring artist and his suffering
- after hearing the story of the poor and needful artist the swallow asked the prince if there was anything he could do,
- the prince asked him to stay for the night and then in the morning take one of his eyes which was made out of pure diamond and place it on his artist's table
