  • Germany surrendered twice during the WWll. They decided to surrender due to the death of Hitler who was their main leader. Some events that lead to them surrendering are the failure of the Spring Offensive, and loss of her allies around 1918. Then they surrendered unconditionally.
  • The United states and Soviet Union had to form an alliance during the WWll. They realized to defeat Nazi Germany they would need to team up basically. Although, the Soviet Unions main goal was worldwide communism. Which caused the trust between both countries to be very uneven, and is why they are also enemies.
  • The Manhattan project was the building and research for the first nuclear weapons during WWll. Scientists studied nuclear chain reactions. It was reported that Adolf Hitler had been working on nuclear technology with german scientists. So in response the U.S started the Manhattan project.

  • *Bombs Hiroshima and Nagasaki*
  • The Bombing of Hiroshima was after the Manhattan project the atomic bomb was tested in New Mexico. There was a big debate on wether they should drop the bomb or not. President Harry s. Truman made the final decision to do so, because it would stop the war and save American soldiers. Which concluded in the first atomic bomb ever dropped.
  • After the Bombing of Hiroshima the Japanese still didn't surrender. The US new that Nagasaki was a very important port city with a large population. They knew that if they hit Nagasaki with a bomb Japan would have to surrender. So three days after the bombing of Hiroshima the US bombed Nagasaki.
  • Japan was forced to surrender after being bombed twice. Although the first bomb they refused to surrender. So the US Bombed them again. Japan was stubborn and still didn't want to surrender but had no choice in order to protect it's people.
