- Good Morning! I'm the conductor of the lottery and mu name is Joe summers.
- Thank you for helping me set the stool, Mr.Graves
- Hutchinson
- Get up there bill
- The villagers on a small village gathered in the square at ten o clock of the morning of June 27th to participate on a tradition event, which is "the lottery" conducted by Mr. Summers.
- It's Tessie
- Mr. Summers comes into the town square with a black box that will be used for the lottery. The postmaster, Mr. Graves comes in with a stool that the black box will be set on. Mr. Summers star calling each head of the household to take a piece of paper from the black box, but some were missing.
- You go ahead and i'll catch up with you
- Hurry up Mrs. Dunbar
- This event happens during the lottery where a man named bill hutchinson comes up and grabs his slip of paper from the black box . his wife Tessi encourages him to go up and pick his slip.
- It isn't fair, it isn't right
- After all the hutchinson chose their slip of paper from the box, it was found that Tessi had the paper with the black spot on it after her husband showed everyone her slip, therefore she will be stone to death
- After it was figure out that Tessi won the lottery, the villagers began to pile up stones so they could stone and sacrifice Tessi for good corn.
- Tessi is in the middle of a cleared space. She is strongly a opposed to the idea of throwing stones at her and is protesting but the villagers are ready and are about to throw stones at her.
