- Here, the locals welcome tourists, and show off their culture. Often, tour guides will be able to translate what the locals are singing in their native language.
- Drumming sanctuaries are one of the most important aspects of Burundi's culture, and the Gishora drumming sanctuary is one of the most well-known. It is an entertaining and cultural performance that lasts around 40 mins.
- Plus, there's nowhere to sit, it's hot, there are random villagers who don't speak English, and the performance is taking forever to finish!
- I cannot believe where this place is. It's in the middle of nowhere! It's just dry land and bush. What if I were to loose my guide, and get lost?
- Underdeveloped tourism in Burundi is an issue. In 2006, there was a spike in tourists, but only totaling in at around 214,000. The amount of tourists visiting Gishora is unknown, however, it still remains one of the most well-known attractions in Burundi. If more people visited Gishora, and bring more attention to it, then it may help boost the economy of Burundi.
